FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to Otuniverse! This FAQ collects the most common questions players ask on the website and Discord. It’s not a replacement for the Rules or Wiki, but it should save you a few “how do I…?” messages.
1. Getting Started
How do I create an account and log in?
Go to Create Account in the Account box on the left. After confirming your data you can log in on the website via Login and use the same email + password in the game client. Simple, safe, and faster than looting your first rat.
Where do I download the client?
The official client is on the Downloads page. Always use that client – no IP changer is needed and all custom features (stats, markets, quests, protection systems, etc.) are designed around it.
I forgot my password. What now?
Use the Lost Account Interface. Follow the instructions with your registered email. If you no longer have access to that email, please open a ticket through the Support page.
Is OTUniverse pay-to-win?
Donations help keep the server online and add convenience or early support, but the goal is not to create gear that one-shots the universe.

There are a few things you can get from the Store such as some very early-game gear and tier / upgrade crystals. However:
  • Everything is obtainable in-game without paying.
  • Any good / end-game gear is only obtainable through quests, bosses or missions, not by swiping a card.
  • There is no great equipment directly sold in the Store.
You still need to level, farm and play smart to progress. For details, read the donation/coins sections in the Rules.
Does OTUniverse have VIP membership? What does it give?
Yes, OTUniverse offers a VIP membership that focuses on quality of life and utility, not on giving you overpowered gear. VIP players receive:
  • Access to orange teleports inside experience areas (faster access to certain hunting zones).
  • Access to !stamina to fully restore your stamina once every 72 hours.
  • Access to !autobless to automatically buy all missing blessings on login (as long as you have enough money).
  • An additional Dungeon entry (more chances to run dungeons).
  • Reduced death penalty – less experience and skill loss on death.
VIP is designed to make playing smoother and more comfortable, but all real power still comes from playing the game: quests, missions, bosses and progression.
2. Progression, Hunts & Quests
How fast is experience and skill gain here?
OTUniverse uses custom stages for both experience and skills. The exact values are listed on the Stages page. Early levels are fast so you can try content quickly; higher levels slow down, so pushing to extreme levels still feels meaningful.
Where should I hunt? Do you have a hunting guide?
We don’t maintain a step-by-step hunting guide on the Wiki, but the game itself gives you clear directions:
  • Inside the Main Hall you will find several teleports.
  • The teleport named “Hunts” leads to early-game and mid-game hunting areas, roughly up to around level 1000.
  • The teleport called “Forbidden Kingdom” is a late-game experience area designed for high level characters.
Explore, experiment and don’t be afraid to die a few times while learning – just not too often, your blessings will get offended.
What are “quests” and “missions” on OTUniverse?
Quests and missions are tracked using internal storages and custom questlines. Many NPCs, dungeons and arenas contribute to your total completed quests/missions. You can see which players are the biggest adventurers on the Top Questers ranking.
How do I get Stat Points, mission points and other special rewards?
Important: Stat-related rewards are not simply farmed by random grinding. They come from:
  • NPC missions and questlines,
  • special missions or challenges,
  • specific scrolls, items or spells.
If you want more stats, focus on doing missions and special content instead of AFK farming a single monster for 10 hours.
Do you have the Wheel of Destiny?
No. OTUniverse does not use the Wheel of Destiny.
The Wheel is tightly tied to CipSoft’s own design and would limit what we can do with our custom systems. Instead we use our own stat system, custom items, quests and mechanics to give you build choices and progression without being locked into a pre-written wheel from the original client.
What happens when I die?
Death can cost you experience, skills and sometimes items, depending on your blessings and protection. On OTUniverse:
  • Experience is protected by free blessings up to level 200.
  • Skills (including Fist Fighting) are lost on death like any other skill — no combat skill is permanently protected.
Beyond level 200 the usual rules apply, so don’t treat high-level bosses as friendly NPCs. For full details, check the death & blessing section of the Rules.
What are Companion Pets?
Companions are peaceful support pets that follow you around. They do not fight, loot, or take damage, and they cannot be attacked. There are five, each with a different role: Mender (heals HP & mana), Guardian (reduces incoming damage), Hunter (more damage & critical hit), Sage (more experience & prey) and Mystic (lower spell cooldowns & mana cost). You can have one active at a time. Summon it with !pet <name> (or open the menu with !pet) and dismiss it with !pet off. Each companion evolves its look and power automatically as it grows. See the full roster on the Pets page.
3. Stat System & Power
How does the custom Stat System work?
By completing NPC missions, special missions and specific scroll/spell systems, you can earn Stat Points, Mini Boss Points and Boss Points. Stat Points can then be invested into: extra damage, protections, HP/MP, attack speed and regeneration. You can preview your current stats and bonuses on your character page on the website.
Do custom weapons and items really matter?
Yes – OTUniverse has many custom items with elemental damage, tiers and bonus lines (for example [fire+X%], [holy+X%], etc.). Read item tooltips carefully and check the Wiki to understand which sets work best for your vocation and hunting areas. “Random sword with pretty name” is not always the best option.
4. Markets: Characters, Items & Coins
Can I buy or sell characters safely?
Yes. OTUniverse has an internal Character Market at this page. There you can list characters for sale and buy them with server coins. This is the only safe and approved way to trade characters – external deals or real-money trading are against the Rules.
What is the Coin Market and how does it work?
The Coin Market at this page lets players sell items for Tibia coins using the in-game Market Jewel Case and talkactions. To use it:
  • You must be inside a protection zone.
  • You need a Market Jewel Case. If you threw it away, you can buy a new one from Royal Jones (NPC below the depot).
  • Place any single item or stack (for example 100 of the same item) inside the case. Containers and backpacks are not allowed and will not work.
  • While standing in PZ, use e.g. !sell 100 to list the item in your case for 100 Tibia Coins.
  • To cancel an offer, check its ID on the Coin Market page and say !cancel ID in-game.
It’s a player-driven marketplace where you can turn your drops into coins without spamming trade chat all day.
Can I trade items or coins for real money?
No. Real-money trading (RMT) is strictly forbidden. Use the in-game systems (Character Market, Coin Market, Store) only. Trying to bypass this can lead to account deletion, and explaining that your “friend’s cousin’s PayPal was totally legit” won’t help.
5. Rules, PvP & Behaviour
How does PvP work here? (protection, damage, skulls, etc.)
OTUniverse is a PvP world with custom protections:
  • XP Protection: Free blessings up to level 200.
  • World Type: PvP (protection level: 200).
  • House Rent: Weekly. Minimum house level: 500.
  • PvP Level Requirement: You can start PvP from level 200.
  • PvP Level Range: You may only attack players (or their summons) whose level is between 1/3 and 3× your own. Example: level 300 can attack level 100+; level 1000 can attack level 334+.
  • PvP Damage: Player vs. player damage is reduced to 65% of normal PvE damage.
  • PvP Leech: Life and mana leech in PvP are reduced by 50% compared to PvE.
  • Frags for Red Skull: 30 kills per day, 50 per week, 100 per month.
  • White Skull Duration: 1 minute after a justified kill.
  • PZ Lock Duration: 1 minute after participating in PvP.
For examples, edge cases and punishments related to abuse, always check the full Rules.
Are bots, macros or external healers allowed?
OTUniverse makes a clear distinction between healers and bots that play the game for you:
  • Healers are allowed. You may use a healer that only helps you cast spells or use potions while you are actively playing.
  • OTUniverse provides its own official healer, included in the client from the Downloads page. It is packed together with the OTUniverse Updater and must be launched through the updater.
  • Any type of cavebot, targeting, or automation that gains experience while you are AFK or away from the computer is strictly illegal. This includes auto-hunting, auto-target pathing, full AFK scripts and similar tools.
Violating these rules will result in warnings. After the third warning, the character is seized by the administration. By creating an account you agree to these rules, so please read the full list on the Rules page.
Short version: if your character is happily farming experience while you’re watching a movie, you are doing something that will end badly.
Can I multi-client?
Multi-clienting is allowed within specific limits and conditions described in the Rules. Abusing multiple clients for blocking, AFK farming or other unfair tactics may result in bans.
Can I share my account with a friend?
Account sharing is strongly discouraged and can cause problems (scams, bans, lost items). You are responsible for everything that happens on your account, even if “a friend” did it. Best practice: one human, one account.
What about insults, harassment and griefing?
OTUniverse allows PvP, but not harassment. Constant insulting, racist or hateful language, stalking players across hunts, or trying to ruin someone’s experience on purpose can all lead to punishments. The exact limits and examples are listed in the Rules.
Can I advertise other servers or communities?
No advertising of other servers or unrelated projects in public channels. You’re welcome to invite friends to OTUniverse, but not to turn our chat into a billboard.
How do bans, warnings and jails work? Can I appeal?
Most serious punishments on OTUniverse come from breaking the Anti-Bot / Cave Bot Rule: using any cave bot, macro, auto spell-caster / auto-attack, auto-walker or other program that kills monsters or gains experience for you while you are not actively controlling your character is strictly forbidden. There is no allowed unattended-EXP method: you must actively control your character at all times. Auto-healers are allowed while you are at the keyboard.

For this rule the penalties are clearly defined:
  • 1st warning: 2 hours jail.
  • 2nd warning: 8 hours jail.
  • 3rd warning: Your character is permanently seized by the OTUniverse Administration and may be placed on the marketplace.
By creating an account you agree to these rules and punishments. Other severe violations (RMT, extreme toxicity, exploitation, etc.) can also result in temporary or permanent bans according to the Rules.

If you believe a punishment was applied in error, you can contact staff via the Support page or Discord with clear information and any evidence you have. Appeals are reviewed, but “unban plx” without details usually won’t change a decision.
6. Quality of Life & Technical
Do I get any free quality-of-life systems as a registered player?
Yes! Registered accounts with a confirmed email receive access to the free !autoloot system. Make sure your email is verified on the website and then configure your autoloot in-game to stop playing “pick up simulator” manually.
I cannot connect to the server. What should I check first?
First, check if the server is online via the Online page. Then verify you are using the latest client from Downloads, and that your firewall / antivirus is not blocking it. If it still fails, contact support with any error messages you see.
I have high ping, lag or disconnects.
Close heavy downloads/streams, avoid VPNs or proxies and try another connection if possible. Sometimes internet routing between you and the server is unstable; if many players report it, staff will investigate. You can always report issues via Support or Discord.
The client crashes or shows missing DLL / DirectX errors.
First, visit the Downloads page – it contains links to all required files (such as Visual C++ and DirectX) and a few common fixes for OTUniverse client issues.

Make sure you install the required Visual C++ and DirectX components from there, and always run the client from the original folder (not from random copies). If problems continue, send us a screenshot or the exact error text through Support so we can help you step by step.
7. Still Have Questions?
Where can I get more information or personal help?
For detailed mechanics, visit our Wiki.
For rules, visit Rules.
If you need direct help from staff, use the in-game help channel, the Support page, or our official Discord (link on the homepage).

See you in Otuniverse – try not to feed the monsters too many free experience points!
